Hospital [hos-pi-tl] noun: an institution in which sick or injured persons are given medical or surgical treatment.
At PMC, it means something more. It’s not just a building to provide medical treatment. It’s the people within that building that really matter. They are the highly skilled and compassionate people that treat this small community’s young and old, the passersby, lifelong citizens and everyone in between. Our team, the nurses, EMS team, providers, administrators, clerks, environmental services, IT specialists, lab technicians, imaging department, rehab team, home health and durable medical equipment personnel, engineering crew and dietary services, volunteers, and many, many others – all work together to provide “The Best of Care, Close to Home.” These individuals bring care, compassion, and healing to our patients, neighbors, family, and friends. They deserve celebration every day. This week we have the opportunity to celebrate these wonderful people, along with the entire nation for “National Hospital Week.” Help us celebrate by expressing your gratitude to hospital personnel this week. They will appreciate knowing how even the smallest of gestures they made, have impacted your life.
At Pondera Medical Center we are proud of how our team delivers top-quality and compassionate care to our patients and residents. We have shown incredible growth in the past 12 months. Much of our success can be credited to the supportive community we live in, our wonderful patients and residents, and our dedicated staff.
We have updated equipment including a new 64-slice CT scanner courtesy of the Helmsley Charitable Trust. Thanks to the 2017 golf tournament fundraiser and the Microbial Stewardship Grant we also have a new bladder scanner. The golf tournament funds also brought us a new heated food cart that helps our Dietary Staff deliver delicious meals at the perfect temperature for residents and patients. We now offer MRI imaging to patients once a week and continue to provide mammograms and DEXA scans.
We continue to provide endoscopy procedures, Cardiac Rehab, Home Health, Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy, and 24/7access to the Wellness Center. Our Durable Medical Equipment department is again, fully accredited and equipped to meet your needs. The Extended Care continues to provide skilled and compassionate care for all of our residents. Our Ambulance crew gained 3 new EMTs and received a grant for a new ambulance! We received the Stroke Hero award, Organ & Tissue Recognition award, and the Montana Rural Healthcare “PIN” award. This success can be attributed to our dedicated staff and the community that continues to support Pondera Medical Center.
Pondera County has benefited from a hospital for over 100 years; together, we will be here for the next 100.
