A Letter to Our Treasured Community

To Our Treasured Community:

Pondera Medical Center would like to take the opportunity to thank our loyal patients, residents, families, supporters, partners, and friends. Health care is truly one staple in society that has the power to unite; and we are grateful for the unwavering support of those committed to helping us fulfill our mission to “Exceed the Healthcare Expectation of those we serve through all of life’s stages.” PMC has been proud to partner with the community for more than 100 years, but a spotlight has been shone on these meaningful relationships even more during this challenging pandemic. We thank our community and our employees enormously.

Pondera Medical Center takes pride in the quality of service we provide to this region of rural Montana. We are proud to be an active part of the solution to offer Pondera County the medical services and providers they deserve without traveling. The PMC Board of Directors has the objective of keeping PMC a viable, full-service healthcare facility well into the future, with a vested interest in the long-term stability of both our facility and our communities.

We are pleased to share that we are in preliminary discussions with Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) about the possibility of a deeper relationship. The PMC Board of Directors and Administration have agreed to further define specific terms and desires of a potential relationship that will be in the best interest of our employees, patients, and community. Any long-term plans are dependent on agreeing to an action plan that keeps the health needs of our local community at the forefront. As evidenced by recent relationships forged with Marias Medical Center in Shelby and Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank, KRH is expanding services to meet the health care needs of the Hi-Line communities. They are committed to delivering healthcare as close to home as possible and would welcome serving the Conrad community as well.

Pondera Medical Center’s priority is, and always will be, the best interest of our staff and community. The PMC Board of Directors and Administration’s desire is to maintain and enhance health care in the future for our community. Your friends and neighbors are our employees, patients, and our families. We promise all of you that they are at the forefront of any current and future initiatives. This letter is our first step in the promise to be transparent about a possible change to PMC. We also commit to listening closely and consider the input of those we serve as well as our PMC employees and providers. We welcome all opinions, thoughts, questions, etc. from all community members. We encourage you to reach out to us. All community feedback and contributions are of the utmost importance to us. We prefer written correspondence so that it may be kept, shared, and referenced. To receive a response, we ask that this written communication not be anonymous, unless you do not prefer a direct response. Our community is welcome to contact me directly at:
